Philosophy

Great Escape is an outreach ministry of Littleton United Methodist Church dedicated to providing parents a program meeting the needs of children in a positive, loving, Christian atmosphere. Our program is designed to meet their needs at each stage of development. Each day is full of planned activities, which contribute to the individual child's socialization and enjoyment. Each child is provided developmentally appropriate activities, which encourage growth socially, physically, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually.

Program Goals

We strive to provide a safe environment, which will foster the joy of learning and help develop each child's God given potential.

Great Escape creates an environment that is supportive of the child's actions and language while giving opportunities for choices, decision making and problem solving while building confidence in their own abilities

Great Escape accepts new registration throughout the year, based on availability.

Calendar

Great Escape operates on the traditional school calendar, from September (Labor Day) through May (Memorial Day). Great Escape follows the Littleton Public Schools calendar for winter and spring breaks and snow closures. Great Escape is open Monday through Thursday. Click HERE to see our monthly calendar.

Weather Delays / Closures

Great Escape follows Littleton Public Schools for snow closures. School closures due to snow or weather will also be posted on our online calendar.

Hours

Great Escape hours are 9:30 am to 3:00 pm for all classes Monday through Thursday. The Enrichment class is 9:30 am to 1:30 pm on the 1st and 3rd Fridays.

Parent's Day Out

The Great Escape parent's day out program is offered for children ages 12 month (and walking) through under three years. Parent's may sign their child up for this program for as little as one day a week, up to four days per week.

Preschool

The Great Escape preschool program is available for children ages three through six years. The preschool program is available either two or four days per week. The two day per week option is offered with a choice of either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday.

Great Escape also offers an enrichment class for preschool attendees in addition to the two or four day program. This class is held on the first and third Friday of every month. You can find more about it on the Enrichment page.

Lunch

Every child should bring a nutritious lunch and drink from home each day. The lunch will be refrigerated until the lunch hour.

Snacks

Each family is asked to contribute a healthy, store bought (not home-made) snack for their child's class 3-4 times per year.

Extras

Great Escape offers an exceptional environment for growth and learning through traditional classroom activities. However, the program goes a step beyond to include a music program, and enrichment classes in Art, Computers, Dance, Science, and Drama/Theatre as well as Chapel time each month to expose the children to Christian values.
