Halloween Parade
Each year Great Escape hosts a Halloween parade
for parent's and Littleton United Methodist employees. The children from each class parade
through the building displaying their adorable costumes.

Harvest of Hope Food Drive
GreatEscape joins with Littleton United Methodist Church each fall to collect
non-perishable food items for DenUM and Inter-Faith Community services. Each class has a box to collect food. |

Thanksgiving Feast and Pow-Wow
Great Escape has celebrated Thanksgiving for many years with a feast and Pow-Wow for
the children. The Great Escape classes learn about the first Thanksgiving, native
Americans and American Thanksgiving traditions. The feast is a day where the children can
enjoy a typical Thanksgiving meal at school. They also participate in the Pow-Wow with the
large drum and dancing.

Giving Tree
Every December Great Escape has a Christmas tree in the hallway
decorated with ornaments labeled with items to be donated to those in need. Families in
our program are invited to select ornaments, purchase the items and return them to be
donated. This program is very popular and has provided many useful items for those in need |

Songs for Seniors
Twice a year the preschool children visit the adjacent Bradley
and Alison House residents. The children sing fall and Halloween songs to the seniors in
October and Holiday song in December.

Rodeo
Great Escape hosts an old fashioned rodeo every January to
coincide with theNational Western Stock Show in Denver. The children are invited to dress
in western garb. The children play rodeo games such as corral the balloon pigs, Lasso
(hula-hoop) the horse, and stick horse races

Spring Musical
Each May the Great Escape music instructor plans a musical
performance that every Great Escape student participates in. The musical has a new theme
and new songs each year. The kids love singing for an audience and the parent's love to
see the child up in stage!

Book Fair
Great Escape hosts a Scholastic book fair each spring. The book fair offers our
families the opportunity to choose books together in a fun and relaxed environment while
providing our program with books for our classrooms. The book fair includes many special
events such as the pajama read-aloud and the one for books raffle.

Mothers' Day Tea
Great Escape hosts a short program and a tea party the week before
Mother's Day.

Field Trips
The preschool classes go on several field trips a year (weather permitting). These
include trips to Bemis Library and to the Littleton Historical Museum.

Preschool Graduation
At the end of the school year, there is a special graduation ceremony for
the kids in the Dinosaur classes that will be moving on to Kindergarten. |

Fun Days
The last week of school is Fun Days. During this week, most of the day is
spent outside for some fun in the sun and games. These include water tables, fishing,
shaving cream, painting the shed (with water), chalk drawing and more.
